I ordered the Rosenthal glass for my daughters upcoming wedding. The glass is much bigger than I anticipated but that's OK, because I also ordered the Crushed Glass wedding display holder and was worried there would not be enough glass to fill the tube on the display. The glass display piece will be given to the couple on their first anniversary. I was please with the size and weight of this piece, but would have expected it to come in a decent gift box instead of a brown carton wrapped in layers of bubble wrap.
It is a beautiful vessel for the wedding break the glass tradition. I wish I had read and/or remembered the descriptive details... I'm a mosaic artist and had intended to use the broken glass fragments in a mosaic wedding/anniversary gift I intend to give to my children. The glass fragments were too curvy for my purposes and my glass artist friend offered to melt it flat for me so I could incorporate the wine-colored glass in my mosaic. Oy vey, she was horrified to find that there was no color when she opened her kiln. In fact, it didn't melt as glass should. I suspect that this issue might be unique.
